Donate to AASLH

AASLH believes in connecting history practitioners. We are here to connect you to the field, providing you with resources and support at all stages of your career and reminding you why what you do is important.

Our growth depends on your growth.

Donate to AASLH this spring and help us to continue supporting history practitioners and the field.

This year, your contribution will go twice as far. Longtime members and champions Dennis A. O’Toole, Sandra Clark, and Carl R. Nold have generously agreed to match up to $17,000 in donations to the AASLH spring campaign.

Additionally, to thank you and help you grow with us, donors will receive access to 101 Ideas for New Revenue at History Organizations, our compilation of some of the best revenue-generating ideas from across the field. We hope that these ideas will allow you to continue your essential work, connect more deeply with your community and strengthen your organization for the future. Thank you for your support.

Annual Fund

The Annual Fund allows us to be responsive to the history community’s needs. The fund powers new continuing education programs, efforts to improve diversity and inclusiveness, and efforts to promote the relevance of history. Donations are applied to the annual operating budget for existing programs as well as the development of new initiatives.

Contributions to the AASLH Endowment assure the longevity of the organization and provide annual earned income to help sustain programs and operations. Donations are invested to achieve a balance of long-term security and the more immediate budgetary needs of AASLH in providing leadership and support for its members who preserve and interpret state and local history.

Denny O' Toole Scholarship Fund

The Denny O’Toole Scholarship funds need-based scholarships to attend the History Leadership Institute. Funds are raised by the HLI Alumni Committee and are granted by the HLI partners. Donations defray tuition and lodging costs for a seminarian (or seminarians) who has been accepted into that year’sHLI class and applied for the scholarship. See for more details on the History Leadership Institute.

Small Museum Scholarship Fund

The Small Museums Scholarship Fund provides scholarships for individuals employed by small museums to attend AASLH Annual Meeting.
